Antique Tool Chest

Antique blanket chest or storage trunk featuring a solid wood construction with a later black painted exterior and a contrasting natural wood top. The piece includes its original interior with remnants of earlier red paint, adding to its character and history. The hinged lid opens to a spacious interior with built-in compartmentalized sections, ideal for organizing smaller items while still allowing for larger storage below. The chest retains its original iron hasp hardware at the front. Measures 40" wide, 21" deep, and 20.5" high. Condition shows heavy surface wear, paint loss, scratches, and finish variation consistent with age and use. Interior shows age-related wear and staining. Structurally solid with good usable storage capacity.
