Pair of Royal Delft Porcelain Farmer & Wife

Beautiful pair of Delft blue and white porcelain figurines depicting a traditional Dutch farmer and his wife, featuring intricate hand-painted decoration and classic Dutch craftsmanship. The farmer is depicted standing with his hands tucked into his pockets, wearing traditional Dutch attire consisting of a blue jacket, patterned trousers, matching cap, and wooden-style shoes. His clothing features rich cobalt blue coloring with darker decorative accents and finely painted details. The accompanying wife is dressed in a traditional Dutch costume, featuring a flowing white dress adorned with elaborate cobalt blue floral patterns, a decorative apron, and a matching bonnet. She holds a beautifully detailed basket in front of her, further enhancing the charming rural character of the composition. Both figurines stand on rectangular porcelain bases decorated with coordinating blue floral and geometric motifs. The pieces feature a glossy glazed finish that highlights the vibrant cobalt blue and crisp white coloring. The undersides bear Delft maker's markings, including the De Delftse Pauw mark, along with additional handwritten identification marks. An accompanying document dated February 25, 1980, from the Delft Chamber of Commerce identifies the registered trademarks of the De Delftse Pauw pottery factory in Holland. A lovely decorative pair showcasing traditional Dutch artistry, ideal for collectors of Delft porcelain, European ceramics, or traditional figurines. The farmer stands approximately 12" tall, and the wife stands approximately 11" tall.
